Bristol LH 1629 - Armagh - (Paul Savage)

Bristol LH 1629 (FOI 1629)

This Alexander (Belfast)-bodied Bristol LH is one of a batch of 100 placed in service by Ulsterbus during 1973 for use on rural routes. 1629 was the first of the batch to enter service and was allocated to Downpatrick, where it spent its entire working life. Having been the first to enter service 1629 was also the last of the batch to be withdrawn from passenger carrying use. This was in late 1988 and 1629 was transferred to the Driving School where it spent another six months on training duties. In July 1989 1629 was sold to the Irish Transport Trust for preservation and during July 1996 was repainted to its original livery (with larger areas in ivory).
